Speak to the Earth
MEDIUM:
Painted Oak, Walnut and Locust Pegs

TYPE OF WORK: Personal invention

COMMENTS: The oak came from a huge tree in the library garden at Radford University. I was just out of the hospital from surgery, could barely walk, took my brother to see the tree, and found it had been cut down! I was shocked, but swore I'd carve something from the tree, as a memorial. And I didWow, don't the colors look good! Picture by Bill Pond

YEAR: 1990
